Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number – Aadhaar Problem

Aadhaar Card is a very good ID proof,  document and data record. Government of India is keenly interested to make the Aadhaar compulsory . But there are many serious Aadhaar Problems  relating to Aadhaar for which Government of India is doing nothing as it appears. Govt / UIDAI may be unaware of these problems. We are just raising all such Aadhaar problems and shortcomings one by one in separate articles. We hope that Government of India  / UIDAI will solve all such Aadhaar Card Problems. In this article, we are raising most serious Sixth problem which can be captioned as ‘ Problem of Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number in  Aadhaar Database .

Problem of Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number Aadhaar Database :  While applying for Aadhaar Card and in the Aadhaar Card Database , the Registered Mobile Number of Aadhaar Card Holder (Resident) is the most serious problem.  Presently, many Aadhaar Holders are facing following problems relating Registered Mobile Number in Aadhaar Card database :-

1. In many cases, it has been observed  that Mobile Number has not been mentioned in Aadhaar Card database rather deliberately.  Therefore,  such aadhaar holder can not make any correction in his aadhaar card online in absence of Aadhaar registered Mobile Number.

2. Due to non-registered mobile number in Aadhaar database, an aadhaar holder can not make any addition /correction /update in Mobile Number in his aadhaar database.

3. If any Aadhaar Holder wants to register his mobile number or correction in Mobile Number due to loss / scrap / change of existing Mobile No., Aadhaar Holder will have to search and attend a Aadhaar Center, where he may be charged in the name of fee / bribe.

4. In many cases, it has been observed that Aadhaar Holders filled complete Mobile No. in application but operators of Aadhaar Authorities did not fill Mobile No. just to save  their time which is creating problem now.

5. Correction / update of Mobile Number is a great / serious headache of Aadhaar Holders.

Suggestion For Aadhaar Card Holders

A. New Aadhaar Card Applicants should fill Mobile No. in application.for Aadhaar Card. Applicants should insist upon the Aadhaar Center to fill / accept Mobile No. in aadhaar data.

B. Aadhaar Card holder should try to correct / update the Mobile No.  in Aadhaar Card database offline through Aadhaar Center or online (in case of active existing registered Mobile No.

C. Aadhaar Card holder should beware of the fact that registered mobile No. should not be scrapped / changed / surrendered before the update of new number in Aadhaar database. Aadhaar holder should try to keep and maintain same Mobile No. even after change of Mobile Company.

Suggestion For Aadhaar UIDAI / Govt. Of India

(a) Govt. of India should suo-moto take initiation for registration of Mobile Numbers in case where no Mobile No. has been registered in Aadhaar database.

(b) Govt. of India / UIDAI should allow / correction addition of Mobile Number offline by post.

(c) It is very surprising that any data in Aadhaar database can be changed / updated offline or online without going to Aadhaar Center. But Mobile Number can not be changed without physical attendance in Aadhaar Center. It is very hard, unnecessary and harassing condition. Therefore, Govt. should allow the correction in Mobile No. at least by post.

(d) Till 31.12.2015, UIDAI had a facility to update Mobile No. offline by post. This facility / procedure has been withdrawn now. This facility of Mobile Update by post should be resumed immediately.

In this article, we are raising fifth problem which can be captioned as ‘ Problem of Birth Date in Aadhaar Card / Aadhaar Database .

Problem of Birth Date in Aadhaar Card / Aadhaar Database :  While applying for Aadhaar Card and in the Aadhaar Card itself, the Birth Date of Aadhaar Card Holder (Resident) may be problematic.  Presently, many Aadhaar Holders are facing following problems relating to Birth Date in Aadhaar Card :-

1. In many cases, it has been observed  that Birth Date (DOB) has not been mentioned in Aadhaar Card . Only Birth year has been mentioned. Therefore, DOB as per Aadhaar  is not matching with the DOB in PAN Card and Passport which are national level ID proofs. Therefore, Aadhaar fails in pancard / Income-tax Verification or mismatch with other ID proofs.

2. In many cases, it has been observed that Aadhaar Holder filled complete DOB in application but operators of Aadhaar Authorities filled only year just to save  the time which is creating problem now.

6. It is surprising that Pancard and Aadhaar Card, both are issued by Government of India but rules, terms and conditions for the DOB of applicant / Holder is not same and identical. It is very serious fault due to double and unequal standards.

7. Contrary to Pan Card and Passport Application, there is no compulsion for exact DOB.

Suggestion For Aadhaar Card Holders

A. Aadhaar Card Applicants should use only full name for Aadhaar Card. Applicants should insist upon the Aadhaar Center to fill / accept only full name.

B. Aadhaar Card holder should try to correct / update the complete name in Aadhaar Card before using it Name ID for Pancard / Passport.

C. Aadhaar Card holder should beware of the fact that Name and other data on Aadhaar Card should be matching with other ID proofs such as Pancard &Passport. Discrepancy / mismatch will create problem in future.

Suggestion For Aadhaar UIDAI / Govt. Of India

(a) First of all, Indian Govt. should make exact identical policy /norms / rules for name and other contents in Aadhaar Card , PANcard, Passport and Driving License.

(b) Govt. of India should suo-moto take initiation for correction in name in all such national level ID proofs such as Aadhaar Card , PANcard, Passport and Driving License free of cost to make them identical.

But there are many serious Aadhaar Problems  relating to Aadhaar for which Government of India is doing nothing as it appears. Govt / UIDAI may be unaware of these problems. ‘ Problem of  E-aadhaar Card : When an applicant (Resident) applies first time for Aadhaar Card or for Aadhaar Correction / Update, applicant is issued a new / fresh Aadhaar Card. This entire process takes at least 90 days time for delivery of Aadhaar Card. More ever, Aadhaar Applicant may not get Aadhaar Card due to postal failures / delays / disturbances. To overcome the problem of Non-delivery or delayed delivery of Aadhaar Card, UIDAI has provided facility of downloading and printing of E-aadhaar Card. As per declaration of UIDAI on it’s website, E-aadhaar Card equivalent to original Aadhaar Card. Thus E-Aadhhar Card is as good as Aadhaar Card. Presently, many Aadhaar Holders are facing following problems relating to E-aadhaar :-

1. Though E-aadhaar  has been made / declared equal to Original Aadhaar Card by the UIDAI but contents and pattern of E-aadhaar is not same and quite identical to Original Aadhaar Card.

2. When we download E-aadhaar , E-aadhaar itself and it’s letter is one sided only which is quite different from Aadhaar Card / Aadhaar Letter. Therefore, it is giving doubt and wrong impression about E-aadhaar . In nutshell, E-aadhaar Card is quite different physically and in appearance from the Original Aadhaar Card.

3. Many Govt. Authorities such as Passport Authorities are not accepting E-aadhaar .

Suggestion For Aadhaar Card Holders

A. E-aadhaar Card Holder should protest / insist to accept the E-aadhaar if any person / authority dishonor the E-aadhaar. They should also make the complaint against such authorities.

B. E-aadhaar Applicant should print the E-aadhaar Card in good colored printer without making any change in color and contents.

C. E-Aadhaar Card Holder  should get their E-aadhaar Cards  laminated by folding it in to just half as per line indication available on the printed E-aadhaar Card.

Suggestion For Aadhaar UIDAI / Govt. Of India

(a) All the contents and pattern of E-aadhaar Card should be made same and quite identical to Original Aadhaar Card.  E-Aadhaar Letter should also be made identical to the Letter for Original Aadhaar.

(b) Govt. of India should bind all Govt. Authorities including  Passport Authorities to accept the E-aadhaar Card even  without  Aadhaar Letter. None should ask for Aadhaar Letter and Original Aadhaar which never reached to the applicant-resident..

Aadhaar Letter – An Aadhaar Problem

Aadhaar Letter with Aadhaar Card  – An Aadhaar Problem

Aadhaar Card is a very good ID proof,  document and data record. Government of India is keenly interested to make the Aadhaar compulsory . But there are serious Aadhaar Problems / Aadhaar Card problems for which Government of India is doing nothing. UIDAI may be unaware of these problems. We are just raising all such Aadhaar problems and shortcomings one by one in separate articles. We hope that Government of India  / UIDAI will solve all such Aadhaar Card Problems. In this article, we are raising second problem which can be captioned as  Problem of Aadhaar Letter with Aadhaar Card.

Problem of Aadhaar Letter as upper part of Aadhaar Card  : When an applicant (Resident) applies first time for Aadhaar Card or for Aadhaar Correction / Update, applicant is sent a colored printed sheet. This sheet is divided into two parts. Bottom part is the ‘ AADHAAR CARD ‘ and upper part is covering letter of Aadhaar Card. The upper part covering letter is more detailed than the Aadhaar Card itself. As per usual practice, an Aadhaar holder cuts bottom part of that sheet (as per indication given on the sheet) as Aadhaar Card. There after, that Aadhaar Card is laminated. And upper part / covering letter is wasted / thrown away as a waste paper. Presently, many Aadhaar Holders are facing following problems relating to Aadhaar Letter :-

1. Aadhaar Letter is a life long document as it contains registered mobile No. (if registered) and Enrollment No. also. Unfortunately, none of the Aadhaar Holders is knowing the importance of this upper part / letter.

2. While issuing this Aadhaar Letter, it’s importance is no where explained on the letter it self or otherwise. And therefore, maximum Aadhaar Holders are not keeping it in safe custody resulted in to loss / misplacement.

3. Many Govt. Authorities such as Passport Authorities are not accepting even Aadhaar Card in absence of this letter where as almost Aadhaar Holders  have scrapped  Aadhaar letter in absence of any guidance and  due to poor knowledge about the importance of Aadhaar Letter.

4. Due to loss / misplacement of Aadhaar Letter, Aadhaar holder can not know the registered Mobile No. and the enrollment No.

Suggestion For Aadhaar Card Holders

A. Aadhaar Applicant  should know that presently, Aadhaar Letter is equally important with the Aadhaar Card.

B. Aadhaar Holder  should keep and maintain the Aadhaar Letter in safe custody for life. It can be laminated also.

C.  Aadhaar Holder  should also write, save & preserve the  Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar Enrollment Number, Time & Date and  registered Mobile No. at multiple locations.

Suggestion For Aadhaar UIDAI / Govt. Of India

(a) All the contents of Aadhaar Letter should also be made available on Letter for E-aadhaar.

(b) While issuing / sending Aadhaar Card / letter, Importance and safe custody of Aadhaar Letter should be well explained / taught to the Aadhaar Holders with very clear instructions.

(c) Considering the poor delivery of Aadhaar Cards / Letters, UIDAI should send atleast Adhaar Cards / letters by two different modes or at two different timings for secured delivery.

(d) Govt. of India should bind all Govt. Authorities including  Passport Authorities to accept the Aadhaar Card even in absence of / without this Aadhaar Letter. None should ask for Aadhaar Letter.
